After completing her education in Occupational Therapy in Denmark in the 1980s, Mrs Else Strom Vistisen has travelled to work in the USA (Home/Institution for severly physically and mentally retarded children age 0-18yrs.) and Hong Kong (Dutchess of Kent Children Hospital within Rehabilitation of Cerebral Palsy and Pressure Garment in the Burned Unit.) In early 2000, she began the study of Bowen Technique and then The Emmett Technique. Else’s love & commitment for this healing art form grew as she witnessed many people benefitting effectively in attaining gentle and natural relief from pain or other physical discomfort. With no manipulation nor drugs involved in the treatment, patients are also taught to listen to their physical well being and to take care of their bodies through sufficient rest and proper nutrition. Else is the only Bowen Practitioner in Singapore to possess the Diploma of Bowen Technique and her Bowen activities are regulated by the Singapore Ministry of Health by virtue of Else being a qualified member of the Singapore Association of Occupational Therapist.
